Geagea Hosts Barrack for Talks in Maarab
Head of the Lebanese Forces party Samir Geagea, and his wife, MP Sethrida Geagea, hosted US presidential envoy Thomas Barrack at their residence in Maarab.

Barrack was accompanied by US Ambassador to Lebanon Lisa Johnson and two aides. Also present were senior Lebanese Forces officials, including Executive Committee member Dr. Joseph Jbeily and Head of External Relations, former Minister Richard Kouyoumjian.

Discussions focused on the proposals outlined in Barrack’s working paper, recently submitted to Lebanese officials. Geagea reaffirmed that the demand to collect all illegal weapons, whether Palestinian or Lebanese, originates from the Lebanese people themselves and is a prerequisite for building a functional state. He stressed that no real state can emerge in Lebanon without dismantling all illegal armed and security groups.

Following a round of discussions covering both local and regional issues, the meeting continued over dinner, where the two sides further explored the topics raised.
