Labor Minister Mohammad Haidar held a series of meetings at his office this morning, focusing on regional development, workers’ rights, and sectoral challenges.
Haidar first received Sheikh Maher Abdel Razzak, head of the Reform and Unity Movement, who briefed him on the situation in Akkar and called for greater Ministry presence in the region through training programs and educational initiatives. Abdel Razzak urged the Minister to visit Akkar, which has long suffered from neglect, expressing confidence in his support for development projects.
Minister Haidar then met with Dr. Nasreen Chahine, head of the League of Contract Teachers in Public Basic Education. She raised the issue of delayed social assistance payments and stressed the need for fair inclusion of contract teachers in the public sector salary scale. Chahine thanked the Minister for his openness and support.
Haidar also met with a delegation from the Insurance Companies Union, led by Asaad Mirza, to discuss the current state of the sector.
