Hassan Khalil to al-Hayat: There is no need to discuss an international interference against ISIS in Lebanon

Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil stated that there is currently no need to discuss an international interference against ISIS in Lebanon, adding that it is capable of facing it as it had done in Arsal.

In remarks published in al-Hayat newspaper Sunday, Hassan Khalil admitted that a persistent presidential void could destroy the consensus that united political factions in Arsal, adding that Speaker Nabih Berri’s rejection of a parliamentary term extension is only preliminary.

“Solving the current debacle through a constitutional amendment requires untimely agreements that cannot be fulfilled at the moment,” he said, extending gratitude to the Saudi Kingdom for its financial grant supporting the Lebanese Army.
