Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned what he called “Israel’s enemies” that his country would reach them “anywhere and at any time,” speaking from the Tel Nof Airbase.
Netanyahu said Israel had indications that it could face attacks as the elections approach.
“Don’t mess with us, not now and not at any time. Our long arm will reach you anywhere and at any time,” Netanyahu said, according to a statement from his office. He did not identify those he was referring to or provide details about the indications he cited.
Netanyahu said Israel was continuing its operations on several fronts, including Gaza and Lebanon. He claimed that Israeli forces had killed more than 100 people whom he described as “terrorists” in Gaza in recent weeks, and announced that a commander in a Hamas brigade in northern Gaza had been killed the previous night.
Netanyahu also said he was facing pressure to roll back what he described as Israel’s military achievements, but stressed that he would not allow that to happen.
His remarks came ahead of Israel’s elections, scheduled for October 27.
