At 1:00 a.m., Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived from the Russian capital, Moscow, on an official visit to Beirut that will begin with meetings with the President of the Republic, the Speaker of Parliament, and the Prime Minister.
Abdollahian delivered a speech in which he congratulated the "brotherly Lebanese people on forming the new government. On this occasion, I would like to convey the sincere greetings of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, His Eminence Ibrahim Raisi, to the dear Lebanese people, the gallant resistance, and the brotherly Lebanese government."
"In this official visit to brotherly Lebanon, I would like to announce a frank and firm position that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as it always did, will stand firmly by the side of the brotherly Lebanese Republic in order to break the unjust siege that it is subjected to at such a sensitive stage in its history. Iran will spare no effort in providing assistance and supporting Lebanon," he confirmed.
"We are fully confident that just as the honorable Lebanese people were able to overcome the difficult stages they went through before, God willing, they will also be able at this stage to overcome the difficulties they are experiencing," Abdollahian concluded.
