Head of the Health Parliamentary Committee, MP Assem Araji, on Tuesday reiterated in an interview with the Voice of All Lebanon radio station that "most of the medications for incurable and chronic diseases will become available soon."
However, he made clear that they “will not be sold”, but will be distributed free of charge by the Ministry of Health.
The Lebanese Central Bank has opened a credit of $60 million dollars for medicine importers, Araji added, explaining that "the credit is sufficient to import these medicines for over a period of at least two months."
Moreover, he reassured that the coronavirus situation was currently under control thanks to the fact that the vaccination rate is very high.
“It is difficult to speculate about the Covid-19 situation in the coming months because we do not know how the pandemic will evolve," Araji noted, warning that "hospitals are not fully prepared, given the dire financial and economic conditions."
Regarding the third dose of the vaccine, he explained that the coronavirus committee will start sending text messages to citizens over the age of seventy to receive thief third jab next month.
