Yemen's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday sternly condemned the statements made by Information Minister George Kordahi during an interview, and asked the Lebanese government for clarifications.
"With vehement condemnation and strong denunciation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has followed up on the media statements made by the Lebanese Minister of Information during a TV show, which are considered as trespassing the clear Lebanese position expressed by the consecutive Lebanese governments who condemned the Houthi coup against the constitutional legitimacy and supported all relevant resolutions issued by the Arab League and the United Nations," Yemen's Foreign Ministry said in a statement disseminated by the Yemeni Embassy in Beirut.
In its statement, the Foreign Ministry said the statements are harmful to the relations between Lebanon and Yemen, and called the Lebanese government to clarify its position from such comments "that do not serve the historic ties between the two brotherly countries."
