President Michel Aoun affirmed during his meeting with the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League Hossam Zaki that "Lebanon is keen on the best relations with Arab countries, namely Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states."
Aoun asked "to separate between the positions of the Lebanese state and what is issued by individuals or groups, especially if they are outside the positions of responsibility."
Aoun welcomed any attempt by the Arab League to restore fraternal relations with Saudi Arabia, saying: "Tackling what happened recently must be through a sincere dialogue between the two countries."
He added: "Lebanon will not hesitate to take any position that helps establish an atmosphere of honesty that takes into account national sovereignty and mutual concern for the institutionalization of relations."
