President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, left Beirut on Monday morning, heading to Qatar at the invitation of Qatari Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to participate in the opening of the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup.
The President will also discuss with Emir Sheikh Tamim the ways to enhance and develop bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in all fields, in addition to working to activate the Lebanese-Qatari Joint Higher Committee.
The official accompanying delegation includes: Energy Minister Walid Fayad, former minister Pierre Raffoul, and Director General of General Security Major General Abbas Ibrahim.
The Lebanese Ambassador to Qatar, Mrs. Farah Berri, will also join the delegation in Doha.
For his part, Minister Fayad will discuss energy-related issues with Qatari officials and the possibility of benefiting from their expertise in the field of exploration and extraction of gas and oil.
