The Central Committee for Media and Communication of the Free Patriotic Movement issued the following statement: 

The Free Patriotic Movement condemns the attack on the Irish battalion operating within the UNIFIL, and affirms its adherence to Resolution 1701 as an international guarantor of stability in the south. The Free Patriotic Movement reiterates the call on all parties to abide by it, recalling that Lebanon has respected and adhered to this decision throughout President Michel Aoun's term. The party extends condolences to the President of the Republic of Ireland, Michael Daniel Higgins, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, and wishes a speedy recovery for the injured.
