Lebanese army is progressing in its plan to combat terrorist schemes plotted against Lebanon. The latest major achievement took place few days ago when the army foiled an infiltration of a terrorist group into Lebanon, through Arsal outskirts, killing two in its rank.
A military source told al-Joumhouria daily Saturday, that the group attempted to infiltrate into Lebanon through Arsal town, knowing that it is composed of six gunmen, two of them are Syrian nationals and were shot dead by the army, while the others managed to escape.
"The bodies of the two terrorists were transferred to Ras Baalbek hospital and the army seized their weapons," the source explained.
"The army is tightening its measures in the outskirts so as to protect Arsal and its residents," it added.
"The army also succeeded in thwarting all infiltration attempts and in controlling the fronts adjacent to its strongholds despite the recede of battles in Qalamoun," the same source stressed.
In its turn, Hezbollah Party repelled an infiltration attempt into Lebanese territories through al-Alali and al-Abiad mounts on the Eastern Mountain Range in Maaraboun outskirts near Tfeil bordering town, leading to the death of seven gunmen and the injury of many others, who retreated back to the Syrian territories.
