Turkey's nationalist MHP opposition is in favor of maintaining the parliamentary system but is not against holding a referendum on introducing an executive presidency, party leader Devlet Bahceli said on Tuesday.
In a speech to his party's lawmakers, Bahceli said a "reasonable outcome" would be achieved if the ruling AK Party brought to parliament constitutional reform that took into account the MHP's principles and sensitivities.
President Tayyip Erdogan, who founded the AK Party, has long sought an executive presidential system for Turkey.
