Minister of Education Elias Bou Saab, underlined on Friday his decision to stop classes and close public and private schools next Monday, the date of the election of a new president of the Lebanon.
"Monday shall be a historic day, and the beginning of a new era of communication and understanding among the Lebanese," Bou Saab said.
"We expect tightened security measures on Monday, especially in Beirut and its suburbs. We also expect massive popular movement. Therefore, I decided to close public and private schools, as well as technical institutes on Monday; and I ask universities to follow suit," he indicated.
