Germany’s Constitutional Court rejected on Wednesday a request for an injunction to stop the Bundesbank from taking part in the European Central Bank’s 2.3 trillion euro ($2.7 trillion) asset purchase program, the court said in a statement.
Although the German court has expressed reservations in the past about the asset buys, the ruling leaves the case with the European Court of Justice, which has in the past sided with the ECB when its powers to buy bonds were challenged.
