Future bloc on Tuesday categorically rejected the latest statement by Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, stressing that Lebanon is an independent Arab country which does not accept any guardianship or undermining its dignity.
"Rouhani's lofty and arrogant words are utterly unacceptable," the bloc said in a statement in the wake of its weekly meeting at the Center House, chaired by Bloc head, Fouad Siniora.
President Rouhani said earlier in a speech in Tehran that no decisive decision is made in Lebanon without Iran.
The bloc hailed "the patriotic and courageous position of Prime Minister Saad Hariri" who denounced these statements.
Future bloc tackled most recent developments on the local arena.
On the recently approved 2017 state budget, the Bloc hailed the Parliament's efforts to approve the 2017 budget, hoping that the Lebanese government will finalize the 2018 budget draft as soon as possible.
The Bloc deemed the approval of the 2017 state budget as a "step which would restore the regularity of public finances."
Concerning the verdict of the Judicial Court in the assassination case of President-elect Bashir Gemayel, the Bloc considered the verdict as "a good step on the path to consecrate justice and enforce law in order to halt the string of assassinations and impunity."
The Bloc condemned the illegitimate, chaotic weapons' phenomena in more than one region and on several occasions, stressing the importance of "respect for the Taif Agreement, the Constitution and the supremacy of the law".
