Caretaker Higher Learning and National Education Minister, Marwan Hamadeh, inaugurated on Thursday BAKAF exhibition in Istanbul upon an official invitation from the Federation of International Universities.
BAKAF is the biggest and first Exhibition in the history of Turkey with space of 20 Square Meters. It is a large-scale event for students, Academics, young professionals, doctors, researchers, inventors, innovators and economists, with the participation of Turkish and global universities.
In his delivered word, Hamadeh thanked the President of the International Universities Union, Dr. Mohamed Kheir Ghabani for his invitation.
"We are highly appreciative of this initiative which brings together thinkers and academics to promote investment in human beings and to form a link for communication over the best means en route to intellectual and cultural advancement. This is the pillar of economic advancement and the most viable means to achieve progress in Islamic and Arab countries that suffered wars and displacement of populations who found safety in education towards a safer future," Hamadeh said.
The caretaker Minister went on to say that Lebanon and Turkey embraced millions of displaced people from Syria, Iraq, and Palestine, and provided them with education and care pending their safe return to their homeland.
"I take this opportunity to congratulate the Turkish people and Turkish institutions on the re-election of President of the Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for a new presidential term." He added.
It is to note that Hamadeh received two honorary doctorates from Bayazid University in Ankara and the International Astrolabe University in Istanbul.
