President General Michel Aoun stressed at the beginning of Thursday's Cabinet session that "the right to demonstrate does not entail a right to insult. Freedom of the media does not mean a freedom to spread rumors that are malicious and harmful to the homeland.
"It is not the time to outbid each other but rather to resolve problems, especially the economic ones, the first of which being the budget," he said.
"I am the head of state and I represent the dignity of the Lebanese and the prestige of this State. We all represent the procedural authority and any failure for us is a failure of all authority. So, we are forbidden to fail and we will not fail," the president asserted.
