UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Peace-building, Rosemary DiCarlo, is expected to visit the Middle East between October 5 & 11, 2019, to discuss efforts by UN missions, agencies, funds and programs in the region.
DiCarlo will begin her visit to occupied Palestine between October 5 & 8, 2019, where she will meet with government officials and civil society organizations in Israel and Palestine. She will also visit the office of the Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process in Jerusalem, after which she will head to Jordan on October 8 to hold talks with Jordanian officials and representatives of the United Nations.
DiCarlo's next stop will be in Beirut between October 9 & 11, 2019, where she will meet with government officials and civil society organizations, including women's groups. During her visit, she will also meet with the UN Special Coordinator in Lebanon and representatives of the UN team, in addition to checking on UNIFIL in southern Lebanon.
