The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) on Monday hosted a conference on the role of Women in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, organized by the Saudi Embassy at the United Nations House.
Minister of State for the Economic Empowerment of Women and Youth, Violette Kheirallah Safadi, took part in the conference alongside several figures, including the Executive Secretary of ESCWA, Rola Dachti, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Walid Bukhari, Interior Minister Raya Al-Hassan, and NNA Director, Laure Sleiman.
Minister Safadi said in her speech that the woman's cause was the fastest route to a healthy society.
"Women's issues in the Arab world are still a top priority and a challenge, especially that women account for half of the society," Safadi said.
For his part, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia affirmed that his country aspired for Arab women, especially Saudi women, to continue their essential role in sustainable development and help them unleash their true potential, thus ensuring successes at the regional and international levels.
