Future bloc on Tuesday convened at the Center House under the chairmanship of MP Bahia Hariri, to discuss most recent developments on the local arena.
The bloc reportedly tackled the wild fires ravaging several areas in Lebanon, namely in Chouf, Metn and Akkar, and the damage inflicted as a result of the unruly fires.
In a statement issued in the wake of the meeting and read out by MP Nazih Njeim, the bloc called for determining the actual causes of these massive fire and the chronic failure to provide the necessary piers for emergencies.
The bloc stressed that the catastrophe that rattled the areas of Al-Meshref, Damour, Al-Dibiyeh and many Lebanese areas, calls for environmental mobilization at the highest levels to face the series of fires recurring every year.
Future bloc commended the efforts of the Interior Ministry, the Lebanese army, Internal Security Forces, civil defense, and firefighters in assisting in fire fighting operations, and thanked Cypriot authorities for responding to the government's help request by sending special firefighting jets.
