Demonstrators continued to advance towards Sassine Square in Ashrafieh on Saturday, waving Lebanese flags as the national anthem played in the background, and slogans reflecting the difficult economic and social living conditions in the country, and calling on the government to resign.
Tents were set-up by the demonstrators in the middle of the street blocking roads leading to the Square, in protest against the government's economic policy.
"These tents will remain until the resignation of this government, which has exhausted citizens with its unjust economic policy based on corruption, waste and narrow personal interests," one protester said.
