The Supreme Islamic Shiite Council on Monday held an emergency meeting to discuss most recent developments on the local arena.
In a statement issued by the Council in the wake of the meeting, the Council stressed the dire need to speed up the adoption of laws relating to the recovery of looted public funds, and those related to full transparency in public funds' spending and the application of illicit enrichment law.
The Council also deemed the reform paper and the budget project as a step on the right path which the popular movement has pushed forward for its approval.
The Council called for practical measures to implement the provisions of the reform paper, and warned of privatization projects that would open a new door for corruption and brokering.
The Council voiced utter rejection of power vacuum because it leads to chaos and political and financial collapse.
