Lebanese Forces Party leader, Samir Geagea, on Thursday asserted that the revolution witnessed in Lebanon has been and will continue to be a pure Lebanese revolution.
"This revolution arose spontaneously and impulsively," Geagea said in an interview to the Emirati "Al-Ittihad" newspaper to be published tomorrow [Friday].
"The resignation of the government is not an end in itself, but a first step towards rectifying the existing path in Lebanon, which led to the dire economic, financial and daily living conditions that prompted people to take to the streets," Geagea told Al-Ittihad newspaper.
Geagea also indicated that all efforts should be put on the formation of a government independent of the current political structure to work swiftly on extricating Lebanon from the current crisis.
"The only step that can rectify this path at the moment is the formation of a government independent of the existing parliamentary majority including new independent faces," Geagea maintained.
Geagea finally said that change in the Lebanese system was out of the question today, saying that resolving economic, financial and daily living conditions was a priority.
