Protesters continued their sit-in on Wednesday outside the Central Bank in Hamra for the second day running.
Some of the protesters spent their night in tents they set up in the area.
A number of hairdressers have reportedly joined the protesters to offer free hairstyles to people, in a bid to "inspire the Central Bank Governor to trim interests in the banking world," according to protesters.
Protesters deplored the monetary and fiscal policy and called for holding the Bank's Governor accountable.
Several demonstrators are playing rhythmic musical instruments amid security measures, chanting "this is not an economic crisis but a capitalist crisis."
