We've all had our fair share of fun with face filters on apps like Snapchat and Facebook. But there is a time and a place for these things - and a serious news report is not one of them.
Before going live on Facebook Justin Hinton, a reporter from North Carolina for WLOS ABC 13 thought he was going delivering a serious report on snowfall in Asheville, warning viewers to stay safe on the local roads.
However, the Emmy-winning journalist had clearly pressed the wrong button on his phone.
While he was delivering his report comedic pieces of animation began to appear on his face, highlights of which include a wizards hat, a torch and a Transformers-like helmet.
After about a minute or so Hinton started to notice his feed was being filled with comments from his co-workers and he soon realised the hilarious mistake he had made. He can be heard saying:
"Wait, Misty, did I have a weird face? Oh, there are special effects on the phone."
We don't know about you, but if this happened to us, we would be mortified.
Fortunately, Hinton would appear to have a sense of humour about this and posted a very amusing Facebook post.
"If you can't laugh at yourself, what's the point of laughter?"
