Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani is calling on Israel to halt its military operations in Gaza.
Tajani said the war in Gaza was triggered by the Hamas’s “barbaric” assault, but in an interview with the Italian news outlet La Stampa, he added: “However, now a ceasefire is necessary. Israel must stop the military operations that have massively affected the Palestinian population.”
The interview took place ahead of a meeting of foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) nations hosted by Tajani on the Italian island of Capri on Wednesday.
