Minister of National Defense, Zeina Akar held on Wednesday a series of diplomatic meetings, starting with the British Ambassador to Lebanon, Chris Rampling, and his accompanying delegation. Talks featured a detailed presentation of the British support to Lebanon, as part of the LAF land border regiments training program.
Akar then welcomed the Chargé d'Affairs at the Iraqi Embassy in Lebanon, Amin Abdullah Al-Nasrawi, with whom she tackled the novel coronavirus crisis, the situation on the Lebanese arena, and bilateral cooperation.
The Minister of Defense also met the Mexican ambassador to Lebanon, Jose Madrazo, and discussed with him bilateral relations, and ways to activate cooperation and the exchange of experiences between the two countries.
Akar later received Italian Ambassador Nicoletta Bombardiere and an accompanying delegation, whereby it was stressed the continuation of Italian support to Lebanon, namely in the fields that constitute a priority to the country.
Among Akar's visitors was the Ambassador of Ukraine, Ihor Ostash, who tackled the concluding of an agreement on technical military cooperation between Ukraine and Lebanon.
The Minister also convened with Hungary's Ambassador to Lebanon, Geza Mihalyi, and discussed ways to bolster bilateral ties.
Minister Akar welcomed Armenian Ambassador Vahagn Atabekian, with talks touching on the general situation in Lebanon and the region.
