Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdallah Bou Habib, on Tuesday welcomed US Ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea, with whom he discussed oil and Syrian refugee issues.
Minister Bou Habib also met with United Nations Resident Coordinator in Lebanon Najat Rushdi, who paid him a farewell visit marking the end of her mission in Lebanon.
During the meeting, Minister Bou Habib raised the issue of the aid provided by the United Nations to help Lebanon cope with the refugee crisis and highlighted “Lebanon's inability to bear this burden."
For her part, Rushdie affirmed that "the United Nations and donor countries have helped nearly 1.5 million Lebanese nationals."
Minister Bou Habib separately met with European Union Ambassador to Lebanon, Ralph Tarraf, with whom he discussed Syrian refugee affairs, and pushed for "a serious dialogue to agree over a road map to end this file."
