Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced after the end of the Cabinet session, “We approved the 2024 budget, which is a major achievement, the decision was consensual, and we will refer it to the Parliament at the end of the week.”
Mikati said: “We will form committees to approve reform laws, the most important of which is restructuring the banks, and the budget deficit is lower than last year; we are going through a difficult period, and everyone must cooperate in the government and Parliament.”
He ended by calling on the Parliament to “hold consecutive sessions to take important rescue steps and elect a president because it is a top priority.”
