Steve Harvey, the beloved American television host, producer, actor, and comedian, has written a book about love and how to act like a lady, think like a man. I’ll bet most of you have seen the movie, which I absolutely adore. His insights on dating and committed relationships are priceless and held in high regard worldwide.
In one of his interviews, he advises us women on the most critical questions to ask a man if you want to get clear on his intentions, and whether he fits into the vision you have for your life or not.
What do you value most in a relationship?
What quality is most attractive to you in a partner?
What is your relationship like with your parents?
What are your long-term goals?
Name three things you’d like to have in common with your partner.
What makes you laugh?
What is one thing you won’t tolerate in a relationship?
If you want to dig a little deeper, Matthew Hussey, British dating and love expert, has got us covered with eight more thought-provoking questions.
Who do you really admire? And why?
What sort of vacations do you love the most? If you had to spend a year in another country, what would be your destination?
What book do you think everyone should read?
What do you love most about your work? Or can you find something you love about it? If not, are you working towards something you are passionate about?
What’s something you love doing you want to do more of?
What do you suck at?
What is a film you’re embarrassed you like so much?
How would your dearest friends characterize you?
Always follow these questions up with: why? Once you ask all of them, not only will you get beneath the surface, but you will become 20 times more interesting and compelling to your love interest. Oh, and one more thing, you better come prepared with some juicy answers to the questions you’re dishing out.
So why don’t you give any of these a go next time you’re on a first, second, or even third date?
