In his Sunday Mass sermon in Bkerke, Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rahi Rahi emphasized the urgent need for political reconciliation among leaders in Lebanon. He stressed that this process requires a deep reflection on the past, including the purification of memories, and a commitment to prioritize the well-being of the Lebanese people above all other considerations.
Rahi also addressed the situation in the south of Lebanon, highlighting that the people in this region are not involved in the ongoing conflict. He emphasized the importance of preventing any actions that could lead to further destruction and displacement without a clear purpose.
Furthermore, the Patriarch expressed his support for all efforts aimed at electing a president in Lebanon. He underscored that the election of a president is crucial for granting legitimacy to the country's constitutional institutions, enabling them to effectively fulfill their duties.
