The latest World Happiness Report, overseen by the United Nations and released on Wednesday to mark the UN's International Day of Happiness, reveals significant global happiness trends. Finland continues to lead the happiness rankings among 143 countries for the seventh consecutive year.
In the Arab world, Kuwait takes the lead, climbing to 13th place globally, a significant improvement from its previous 50th position.
Conversely, Lebanon ranks lowest among Arab nations at 142nd, behind Jordan (125th) and Egypt (127th).
Scandinavian countries dominate the top ranks, with Denmark in second place, followed by Iceland and Sweden. France ranks 27th globally.
The United States and Germany, traditionally in the top 20 happiest countries, are absent from this year's top rankings, securing the 23rd and 24th positions, respectively. The report excludes the most populous nations from its rankings.
Since 2012, the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network has been evaluating happiness levels worldwide. The methodology includes opinion polls on personal happiness and factors such as economic indicators, solidarity, individual freedom, and corruption.
