Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rahi believes that the culture of unity in diversity is at the core of Lebanon, affirming that the culture of coexistence between Christians and Muslims is based on equality and participation in governance and administration.
In his Sunday sermon, Rahi emphasized that "the ongoing failure to elect a president undermines the national covenant, and leads to disintegration of the Lebanese family," stressing that "avoiding conflicts by ensuring that the state remains impartial and the central government does not favor any particular group."
He also emphasized the urgent need to work diligently to strengthen the bonds of the Lebanese family to confront the danger of the current regional situation.
