Six lawmakers have walked out of the parliament's legislative session devoted to discussing the extension of the municipal and mayoral councils' term for one year.
MPs Najat Saliba, Paula Yaacoubian, Yassine Yassine, Ibrahim Mneimneh, Firas Hamdan and Melhem Khalaf said in a statement that they withdrew from the session given its unconstitutionality amid the presidential vacuum. They also stressed that the priority is for the election of a president of the republic.
