The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the decision of the International Court of Justice, which ordered Israel “to stop its military attack in Rafah and open the border crossing to the city, to ensure the access of humanitarian aid to all areas of Gaza and to allow international committees to enter to investigate Israeli practices and violations.”
“This decision constitutes an important opportunity to put an end to Israel’s attacks and displacement policies, and to launch a serious and effective political path that pushes towards a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, on the basis of the two-state solution, based on the relevant international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative that was launched at the Beirut Summit in 2002, which enhances peace and security regionally and internationally," the statement added.
The ministry also called on the international community and the United Nations to "intensify pressure on Israel to implement this resolution and other relevant international legitimacy resolutions."
