Caretaker Minister of Trade and Economy Amin Salam received in his office at the ministry, the World Bank Group (WBG) Executive Director, Abdulaziz Al Mulla.
The pair emphasized to continue implementing existing projects and seeking the development of new support projects, especially with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).
This meeting comes as a follow-up to Minister Salam's visit to Washington, which included meetings with the World Bank Group and the the International Monetary Fund, which dealt with general economic affairs, infrastructure projects, and the existing World Bank projects in Lebanon.
Minister Salam stressed the Ministry’s keenness on close cooperation with the World Bank to achieve results during the coming year, specifically the start of the implementation of the GATE project and the project to support Small and Medium Enterprises, to re-launch the economic cycle.
