Finance and Budget Committee rapporteur, MP Nicolas Nahas, on Friday warned that attempts to re-examine the 2019 state budget figures from scratch during the General Assembly session would denote a "wrong signal" to the international community.
"The discrepancy in deficit ratio figures between the government, the financial committee, and the International Monetary Fund, are not important; these are mere illusionary figures. The international community is monitoring our serious work in the implementation of budget reforms rather than scrutinizing figures," Nicholas explained in an interview accorded to the Voice of Lebanon radio station.
