In the framework of the Cultural Heritage and Urban Development project, implemented by CDR (Council for Development & Reconstruction) for the Ministry of Culture - Directorate General of Antiquities with Italian Financing: Agency for Development and Cooperation (AICS), in the archaeological site of Baalbek, the CDR is pleased to announce that the Jupiter temple colonnade works have come to a conclusion.
Following the UNESCO International Heritage Guidelines, the Jupiter temple works have been presented to UNESCO appointed experts. It is with pride that we announce that both the local and Italian team of experts have received successful feedback from said experts on the conservation works performed on the columns.
Today, the final touches are being implemented to the monument after a very successful and detailed work process. Dismantling of the scaffolding is to proceed in September. We are proud of the collaboration made with the government of Italy.
