An explosion was heard near the Turkish parliament in Ankara on Sunday morning, according to local media reports.
It comes hours before Turkey’s parliament is set to reconvene following the summer break.
"The Ankara explosion is a “terrorist attack” that targeted the headquarters of the Security Directorate of the Ministry of Interior; one of the terrorists blew himself up and the other terrorist was neutralized", Turkish Interior Minister.
Ankara's chief prosecutor launched an investigation into what it also called a terrorist attack.
