Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamieh on Thursday received in his office at the Ministry, the Italian Ambassador to Lebanon, Nicoletta Bombardiere, and they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and Italy’s support for Lebanon in the efforts exerted to overcome the current crisis.
Discussions also touched on activating the twinning and cooperation project between the Directorate General of Civil Aviation at Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport and the Italian Directorate General of Civil Aviation, which is based on training civil aviation safety personnel according to a concrete action plan.
Minister Hamieh underlined that the basis for the success of any project depends on proper governance.
On the Beirut Port reconstruction, Hamieh emphasized that the Port’s master plan is governed by three constants that stem from the state's sovereignty over its facilities, improving services and increasing revenues.
