Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun on Tuesday met at his Yarzeh office with Italian Ambassador to Lebanon, Nicoletta Bombardiere, accompanied by the Embassy's Military Attaché.
Discussions reportedly touched on the cooperation relations between the armies of the two countries.
The army commander also met with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jan Kubis, with whom he discussed the general situation in Lebanon and the broad region.
On the other hand, Maj. Gen. Aoun, inspected the Fouad Shehab Command and Staff College (CSC) in Rihaniyah, where he listened to a detailed explanation on the current conditions and situation of the institution.
The army commander met with the graduating officers of the staff course, welcoming the foreign officers who are attending said course.
Aoun stressed that "the valuable military information and the exchange of expertise between the armies contribute to raising the level of professionalism and enhancing the ability for battles' know-how," pointing out that the army is carrying out its tasks across the entire Lebanese territories, which constitutes the basis for protecting civil peace and stability.
Aoun congratulated the graduating officers, wishing them success in their future military years.
