Al Sharq Al Awsat daily revealed that the Iranian suspect in the spy network that was uncovered in Saudi Arabia last month is in his late 30s, carrying out his PhD studies at the Islamic University of Madinah. Moreover, the suspect is a prominent religious TV figure.

As for the Lebanese suspect, a businessman holding a Lebanese passport, sources told Al Sharq Al Awsat that the Lebanese suspect is considered the most dangerous player within the espionage network.

The sources also revealed that the Iranian suspect is a Sunni who is still being interrogated in order to find out whether he is directly and voluntarily involved in the spy network, or is manipulated by another party.
