Al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc condemned on Wednesday the twin attack that hit Beirut's southern suburb of Bir Hassan, calling the new Cabinet to take the necessary security measures in order to foil schemes being plotted by terrorists.
In a statement issued following its weekly meeting, hailed the formation of a new Government, voicing hope that it would herald the beginning of a transition period that will end with Hezbollah's withdrawal from Syria.
The bloc reiterated the need for the ministerial policy statement to be based on the Baabda Declaration, calling on the Government to clear all obstacles that have been impeding the functioning of state institutions, restore stability and help revive the country's economy.
Al-Mustaqbal bloc renewed call for holding the presidential election as scheduled given that it would contribute to starting a new phase in the country.
The bloc extended its condolences to the families of the victims whose lives were claimed by today's twin attack, hoping that the judicial and security authorities will eventually succeed in apprehending the culprits.
"Terrorism targets all Lebanese without exception and our call for Hizbullah to withdraw its fighters from Syria will protect the nation against terrorists who are using its meddling as a pretext to perpetrate such attacks," it stressed.
