A Texas mother is accused of badly burning her 2-year-old daughter by placing her inside a hot oven.

Tasha Shontell Hatcher, 35, was arrested at her home in Glen Rose at 11:48 p.m. Thursday, according to the Glen Rose Reporter.

Witnesses called deputies with Somervell County Sheriff's Office to the property. Hatcher reportedly confessed to the allegation, according to CBSDFW.

She was charged with a first-degree felony of injury to a child with serious bodily injury.

The toddler, whose name has not been revealed, was airlifted to Fort Worth's Harris Methodist Hospital before being flown to the Parkland Burn Center in Dallas.

She suffered second- and third-degree burns, according to the Dallas Morning News. Hatcher's former co-worker told the Glen Rose Reporter that the girl was believed to be in stable condition Saturday.

Hatcher was arraigned Saturday and is being held on $300,000 bond.

A Child Protective Services spokeswoman told WFAA that the girl will be placed in foster care once she has been discharged from the hospital.
