Memorial mass in Syndney for late Journalist Youssef Hoyek

St. Charbel's Monastery Sydney Father Superior, Louis al-Farkh, presided over the memorial mass marking the one-year commemoration of the passing away of Journalist Youssef Hoyek.


The memorial mass comes at the invitation of the late Journalist's brother Daoud Al-Hoyek.


Scores of the Lebanese community members and dignitaries in Sydney attended the memorial service in memory of Hoyek. 

In a recorded speech, Caretaker Information Minister, Melhem Riachy, eulogized the late Hoyek as a significant person who excellently enjoyed all Catholic merits, saying he used to waivr his rights for the interest of the community.


Minister Riachy also extolled Hoyek as an "exceptional media man" who conveyed the message of Christ and Lebanon's cause to all those around him, saying his writings were in conformity with his ethics and principles.


Riachy also lauded the late journalist's unwavering and tireless efforts at the head of the Press Club, defending with all his resolve the rights of mediamen. 

"He managed successfuly to bring together all mediamen from different opinions and views," the Minister maintained.
