Prime Minister Najib Mikati called on everyone to calm down and not be drawn into sedition for any reason whatsoever. He followed up with Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, on the measures taken by the army to control the situation in Tayouneh-Adlieh area, and arrest the perpetrators.

He also contacted Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri for the same purpose and followed up with the Ministers of Interior and Defense on the overall situation and requested an emergency meeting of the Central Security Council to discuss matters.
