The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday that the deadline for the registration of Lebanese expatriates to vote in the 2022 legislative elections ended at midnight on Saturday, noting that the registration process had stopped in all continents.
The statement indicated that the number of registered people amounted to 244,442, compared to 92,810 people during the 2018 elections.
The statement also explained that the numbers showed the connection of the expatriates with their mother country and the importance of the upcoming elections.
Finally, the Ministry praised the enthusiasm of expatriates to participate in the voting process, as well as the efforts of diplomatic missions abroad, stressing the close cooperation between the Ministries of Interior and of Foreign Affairs with the aim of making the voting successful in all its stages.
