UNIFIL spokesman Andrea Tenenti issued a statement on Wednesday confirming that the camera installed by Israel at the northern entrance to the old railway tunnel near the Blue Line in Ras Naqoura was indeed removed by the UNIFIL force the next day, as communicated to the Lebanese army, which initially reported the camera being installed.
"This is the essence of our liaison and coordination mechanism, and in this case it has worked at full speed. That is why we urge the parties to take advantage of UNIFIL's efforts to resolve contentious issues along the Blue Line and avoid unilateral actions that may aggravate the situation," Tenenti said in his statement.
