Water and Energy Minister Cesar Abi Khalil's Media Bureau on Friday categorically refuted what has been published by Addiyar newspaper on an Israeli-Lebanese meeting at the level of ministers.
"The published news by Al-Diyar over the first Israeli-Lebanese 'more or less direct' meeting at the level of ministers is categorically false, misleading and groundless," a statement by Abi Khalil's media bureau read.
Addiyar newspaper claimed in its report a tripartite meeting between Minister Cesar Abi Khalil and the Israeli Energy Minister in the presence of US President's Envoy for Peace in the Middle East.
Abi Khalil's media bureau deemed such news as mere falsehood and lies, indicating that the fabrication of such news is only an attempt of normalization by a newspaper claiming Arabism and backing the occupied territories.
"The fabrication of such news poses a blow to the Lebanese national security and a malicious attempt to incite the public opinion against Minister Abi Khalil," statement read.
Abi Khalil shall resort to the judiciary over such fabrications and false news.
